Angling Trust, Salmon and Trout Association and Wessex Chalk Streams and Rivers Trust are holding a Southwest Region Freshwater Forum on Saturday, 30th November , 10.00am at the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust, Fordingbridge.  The theme is “What’s happening on your rivers and lakes. How to achieve better fish stocks in Wessex”.

Angling Trust News: The AT has expressed concerns ove rthe proposals to use controversial “Fracking” to extract natural gas.  There is a potential threat of pollution for watercourse.

6th September.  The Angling Trust has just announced the appointment of a new Chairman.  He is George Stephenson, a man with long experience covering a range of fishing worldwide and he lives in Wiltshire.  See the website for more detail.  www.anglingtrust.net

1st September.  The Angling Trust has welcomed the announcement by Richard Benyon, Environment Minister, that plans are being drawn up to ban the Pesticide Chlorpyrifos from domestic sale, in the wake of the pollution incident in the River Kennet last month.
